This website (www.berthawines.co.za) sells bottled, certified wine online.
The use of any wines bought from this website is at the purchaser’s risk.
The purchaser indemnifies and holds Weltevreden 1692 harmless against any loss, injury or damages which may be sustained as a result of using/consuming the wines sold on this website.
The purchaser undertakes that they are of legal age (18 years or older in South Africa) to purchase the alcoholic beverages sold on this website.
The private information required for executing the orders placed through the e-commerce facility, namely the user’s personal information and credit card details, delivery address and telephone numbers will be kept in the strictest confidence and will not be sold or made known to third parties.
Only the necessary information, i.e. the delivery address and contact phone number, will be made known to third parties delivering the product.
Weltevreden 1692 undertakes that it has taken all reasonable precautions to secure the credit card processing that is carried out to receive payment for goods sold. We cannot be held responsible for security breaches occurring on the user’s electronic device (personal computer or other electronic device used to browse this website), which may result due to the lack of adequate virus protection software or spyware that the user may inadvertently have installed on his/her device.
Weltevreden 1692 will supply all goods to the delivery company in good order, and will not be held liable for the condition of goods arriving at the user’s chosen delivery address (i.e. the state of the packaging). However, any faulty or damaged products will be replaced with the current vintage (where applicable) and delivered with Weltevreden 1692’s compliments.
Cancelled orders on the e-commerce facility will be refunded after deduction of a 10% charge for administration costs.
Weltevreden 1692 reserves the right to cancel an order for which payment has already been received. Should we exercise this right; the user will receive a full refund with no deductions.
Orders will be dispatched only upon successful receipt of payment – allow 3 – 7 days for delivery after payment has been made, courier service delivery and logistics dependant.

While we take great pride in our wine, we also know that sometimes things happen beyond our control with perishable items.

We’re committed to ensuring that you’re fully satisfied with your purchase from us. If you need to return any unopened products within 14 days of delivery, we would provide a full refund subject thereto that the product did not meet our dispatch standards. We take the utmost care to ensure your Berthas are packed with extra care, but please note that we can not take responsibility if the goods were damaged in transit.
